Our Mission

Pet Protectors League is a small, grassroots nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of stray and feral cats in our local communities. Through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, we humanely reduce the feral cat population in the Wilmington, Harbor City, San Pedro, and Palos Verdes areas—TNR’ing approximately 300 cats annually. We also rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome around 150 cats and kittens each year.

Cats who cannot be socialized are returned to their original colonies, which are monitored and cared for by our dedicated volunteers. All adoptable cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, vet-checked, tested for FeLV/FIV, and treated for fleas and parasites before being placed in loving homes. Adopters must complete and be approved through our application process.

To further support our mission, we’ve established a fund to help low-income pet owners access affordable spay/neuter services, helping to prevent future overpopulation.

Pet Protectors League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID #33-0007456). We rely solely on adoption fees and donations—100% of which go directly to the care and support of the animals. We receive no government funding.
